Pantone Color of the Year 2025

Pantone Color of the Year 2025

The Pantone Color Institute has announced that the Pantone Color of the Year for 2025 is PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse.

The Pantone Color of the Year is an educational programme of the Pantone Color Institute created to engage the global community of designers and colour enthusiasts in a conversation about colour and encourage reflection on the relationship between culture and colour.

When selecting the Color of the Year, they take into account the colour that seems to gain the most importance across various areas of design, the one that best expresses a message, a feeling, an attitude in global culture at a given moment. The colour that best represents the qualities people want to surround themselves with.

Reading the official press release, we learn a bit more about this colour: PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse is a soft brown that evokes sweetness and elegance, care and pleasure. It brings to mind cocoa, chocolate, and coffee, along with pleasant moments of comfort. Its refinement allows it to stand out even on its own, while its versatility makes it a colour that easily integrates into various colour palettes and can be applied to different design sectors. A trendy colour that finds balance between modernity and timeless classicism.

Personally, I don't use browns much in my designs, which are usually very colourful, but I find that the PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse blends harmoniously with the shades of pink I’ve included in the matching graphics "Retro beauty” and “Retro elegance”, which are inspired by the beauty and refinement of times gone by.
