Fall/Winter 2026–27 Children’s Fashion Trends
General Trends
The previews emerging from industry trade fairs for Fall/Winter 2026–27 highlight a focus on quality and wellbeing, a pursuit of innovation and sustainability, and the expression of one’s individuality through clothing.
A sensory experience that evokes positive emotions is one of the key characteristics. Fabrics create tactile effects with rich, textured surfaces: bouclé, velvets, faux furs, embroidery, appliqués, and micro-sequins embedded in traditional fabrics such as Prince of Wales checks. There is a strong presence of handcrafted details, often made with innovative or futuristic materials.
The colour palettes feature soft, neutral shades as well as vibrant tones such as electric blue and magenta, alongside warm, earthy hues. In addition, many proposals are enhanced with metallic glimmers in silver or bronze.
Children’s Trends
In children’s fashion, a central theme is the blend of nostalgic elements, comfort, and a strong connection to nature and creativity.
When it comes to materials, growing attention to sustainable products and those safe for children’s delicate skin means that organic cotton and recycled fabrics are increasingly in demand. We can also observe a trend towards varied textures, with a playful approach that combines soft materials with more structured ones.
The colour ranges move from delicate shades such as sage green and apricot to brighter accents like spiced red and electric blue. Natural and neutral tones remain a consistent base.
Graphics for children take inspiration from imaginary worlds and adventurous stories, from micro-nature, and from retro floral motifs in warm, earthy tones — reinterpreted with a contemporary twist.
The Fatamadrina Trend Book Has Arrived!
Starting from the general trends, which are usually more adult-oriented, I have developed four specific themes for the children’s industry: The Winter Garden, Looking at the Stars, Soft Winter World, and Colourful Classic.
This is a preparatory process I usually carry out for myself before creating the designs for new collections.
The result is a small trend book which, this year, I’ve decided to share: you can download your free PDF copy.
Each theme includes mood board, colour palette, descriptive text, and look sheet for an overall presentation of the concept.
Whether you’re a student, designer, or manufacturer, you’ll find valuable support for your next collection.
Do you like the ideas featured in the trend book but need ready-to-use graphics? You’ll find them in our F/W 2026–27 collection.
